The Government of India has announced a temporary tax exemption on 40 categories of imported chemicals and polymers to support domestic industries. Effective from 2nd April to 30th June 2026, the Basic Customs Duty has been reduced to "Nil" for essential materials like Polypropylene (PP), Polyethylene (PE), Polystyrene (PS), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Polyethylene (PET) chips, and some others.
